Data management and list hygiene are very important elements of e-mail marketing. Proper data hygiene will maintain compliance with the CAN-SPAM Act, reduce the mailing cost by eliminating bad and undeliverable e-mail addresses, reduce potential irritation to your customers, and reduce your operational costs.
Harland E-mail manages your e-mail data. We can provide files for uploading data to your system that can help you manage your internal data as well. The Epsilon Interactive DREAM platform manages the following data and list-hygiene functions that are executed on an ongoing basis for your data:
Performs e-mail Address Validation for all records loaded into the e-mail platform.
Suppresses opt-out e-mail addresses.
Suppresses records deemed to have invalid e-mail addresses. (These are hard bounces or bad addresses.)
Suppresses soft bounces are after three to six attempts. Soft bounces occur due to a DNS (Domain Name Server) error or a Network error. DNS errors are retried three times in 30-minute intervals. Network errors are retried up to six times at 30-minute intervals.
Suppresses all records with field errors.
Suppresses duplicate records.
Suppresses Spamtrap e-mail addresses. These e-mail addresses are known problem e-mail addresses.
Suppresses Spamtrap Domains. Restricted domains have been identified and are restricted from marketing or service e-mails. Any e-mails sent to these domains may be placed on a black hole list, which leads to blocking.
Suppresses role addresses. Role addresses are distribution lists, which will not have e-mails deployed through the e-mail platform.
A Profile List Analysis Report can be generated that outlines an e-mail deployment. The report details the number of records sent, failed, clicked, replied, opted out, and undeliverable. The report also shows the top domains that your accountholders use.
